Pinterest Inspiration: Elbow Patch Sweaters

There’s no doubt that Pinterest inspires women from all over the world to be creative in the way they dress, cook, travel, exercise, decorate, etc. The list goes on and on! I’ll admit that I’m slightly obsessed with Pinterest, it’s a great way to gather and share ideas that you can save as long as you want! One of my absolute favorite outfit inspirations that seems to keep popping up on my feed is elbow patch sweaters. Finding The Perfect Barn Coat

It’s amazing how barn coats have popularized so much over the past few years.  It all started at an undergrad football game about two years ago when I noticed a few guys sporting the classic olive Beadnell jacket by Barbour.  Maybe it was one of those circumstances when you notice something for the first time, and then that object appears everywhere… because that’s exactly what happened! After that day, it seemed like tons of guys wore them around campus. It didn’t take long for girls to catch on either, Barbour jackets were everywhere. After doing a little research on the brand, I realized that these coats are pretty amazing. They’re weatherproof, warm, and last a lifetime if taken care of properly. When you think of barn coats, Barbour is probably the company that comes to mind first… but there are other brands out there that offer great barn coats too!

Colorful Peacoats

My go-to for outerwear during the holiday season is the peacoat. Classic, versatile, and super comfy. You can dress them up or down, there really are endless possibilities. Usually I prefer a neutral colored coat that goes with everything, but sometimes it’s just more fun to make the coat the focal point of an outfit. Especially when it’s freezing outside and you’re wearing it all day long!  That’s why I love styling the peacoat in bold hues and keeping the rest of my outfit fairly minimal. Yesterday’s temperature went down into the twenties, so I threw on my favorite cobalt blue peacoat!
