I wake up some mornings and think to myself, “I really don’t want to go out and take photos today.” Every blogger has felt it at some point. Sometimes when the weather is dreary, or you’re too busy, or you’d just rather be doing something else… it makes it that much harder. But finding fun new locations for shoots changes my attitude on those days, like this spot we found in a public garden. The fountain was so beautiful, and if you didn’t notice we had a little friend make an appearance in some of the pictures. I wish I could show you all my camera roll so you could see how many pictures were taken of the bird vs. me. Spoiler alert… the damn bird wins.
The weather has dropped again, and brought the gloom along with it, which called for lots of layers. Simple shift dresses and chunky scarves are one of my favorite, versatile pairings when dressing for the cold. Plus, I can take off the scarf and boots, throw on a statement necklace and heels, and BAM! Day-to-night in no time!

There’s nothing better than soft sweaters and flannel shirts to keep you warm on a chilly day. I mean really, that’s what I basically live in during fall and winter. One of the first places I stop at for new sweaters is Old Navy. Let’s be honest, a lot of places charge a pretty penny for cable-knit sweaters. Old Navy has all the style AND the affordability. I really love this cable-knit + flannel popover combo, and both of these items are currently on sale! These would no doubt make for a great Christmas gift as well.

One thing that I will never begin to understand is moody South Carolina weather. Last week I walked outside to ice on my car almost every morning… but this week is ridiculously, unseasonably warm. On the bright side, the change breaks up the chilly months and allows me to get a few more wears out of a few of my transitional favorites like this scuba skirt (currently 50% off) and my open-toe booties (also on sale).
Also, you may have noticed that I’m wearing a few new jewelry pieces from a company called Rocksbox. If you’ve never heard of it, you should check out their website right this second because you’re missing out! You’ll see a post about it later this week, including a really exciting offer from Rocksbox!

Happy Friday, readers! I’m so glad that it’s finally the weekend. I (sort of) apologize for the excessive amount of plaid I’ve worn lately. Whenever it gets cold, I go directly into plaid/flannel mode. I can’t help it! Especially with this Piko 1988 flannel. They’re known for making some of the comfiest tops for women, and this one is no exception!
I wanted to mention again that the J.Crew skirt that I’m wearing is still on major sale, and comes in four colors! I snatched up two colors during Black Friday last year and wear them constantly. It’s definitely a must have for fall and winter.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Cheers!

Finding the opportunity to shoot with Noah and have him actually stay still is a rarity, so I was super happy that these turned out well. Nothing that a few treats won’t solve! Lucky for him, he has lots of fur to protect him from the cold. He’s really in his element this time of year, but I am constantly FREEZING so I really rely on lots of layering. Like I’ve said, adding a few small touches like a blanket scarf and boot socks go a long way when staying warm.
P.S. I am in the process of creating more posts for my holiday gift guide, and would love some feedback from my followers! Are there any in particular that you would like to see? Gifts for men? Tech gifts? For the home? For specific personalities? Let me know what you think!

Okay, so I know it’s November and technically WAY too late into the year to wear white pants… or at least by Southern standards. But I’m hanging onto the last bit of warm weather to wear light outerwear and white! Sometimes when it’s gloomy outside, the best thing to do is wear a colorful outfit – with some sparkly accessories of course – to brighten the day!

I’m constantly layering my outfits during fall and winter because I’m extremely sensitive to the cold. Warm sweaters and thick socks are an absolute must for this girl. I’ve actually had this poncho for about a year and it is still selling at Old Navy. Probably because it’s very comfortable and stylish at the same time, or at least I think so! I’ve also had my L.L. Bean boot socks – in multiple colors – for a number of years and they are still as perfect as the day I bought them. It probably seems odd that I’m making such a fuss over socks… but L.L. Bean’s quality is unbeatable and it really matters when keeping warm!
Sorry for the shortness of this post. I have been busy busy busy this week! Thank you to my readers for being patient!
