Friday Favorites: Halloween Edition

Good morning, readers! And HAPPY HALLOWEEN! I’m not going to lie… I completely forgot that today was Halloween until about 3 days ago. The first time someone asked me if I had plans I literally said, “Um… for what?” Everything has been so crazy that it completely slipped my mind! Regardless, I am celebrating as much as I can. Running around houses in the neighborhood wearing a costume like this isn’t exactly appropriate anymore…

Regardless, I still plan on adding a little Halloween flare to my outfit!

Scarf ¦ Sunglasses ¦ Sweater ¦ Lipstick ¦ Jeans ¦ Belt ¦ Bag ¦ Flats

The feline inspired pieces add a little costume touch to the outfit, but not too much! You can still dress for Halloween, even if you can’t go all out!

I always have to get craft ideas from other people or Pinterest because I have absolutely no artistic ability in that department. Good thing I randomly stumbled upon Craftberry Bush’s blog! If you want to steal low-budget DIY ideas for holidays, parties, recipes, and home decor, you have to check out Lucy’s blog. It is absolutely amazing and you’ll probably spend way too much time looking at it, like I did… Oops!

As a side not, thank you all for being so patient with me as I make these transitions in my life. Next week my regular posting will go back to normal! I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Light Layering

Outfit: Target blanket scarf (similar here) ¦ TJ Maxx cropped sweater (similar) ¦ J.Crew silk blouse ¦ Thyme and Honey leggings ¦ Hunter rain boots ¦ Kate Spade bag ¦  Revlon matte lipstick ‘Really Red’

Jewelry: Tory Burch earrings ¦ Kate Spade watch ¦ David Yurman ring, cuff and link bracelet

Good morning, readers! The weather has been so beautiful in South Carolina lately that I will find any excuse to go outside. Downtown Simpsonville is very quaint and quiet, making it a perfect place to shoot a few photos. It has been very cold in the mornings but warms up tremendously in the afternoon, so light layers are a must. This silk blouse and merino sweater made a great pair for that purpose. I really love the look of a cropped sweater with a long blouse underneath. A great alternative from the regular chunky knit sweater!

Good morning, readers! One of the perks of having a new roommate is having access to another wardrobe! I mean really, what girl doesn’t get tired of their own closet?! Karlie – My readers know her as 5th and Ashland, had this great lace blouse in her closet that I just hard to try. I love the color and the dual texture. It’s a great transition piece and I will be stealing this top more than once!

Blanket Scarf II

Outfit: Target Blanket scarf ¦ Ann Taylor Loft blouse ¦ eShakti skirt ¦ Forever 21 heels ¦ Kate Spade bag ¦ Dior lipstick ‘Trompe L’Oeil’

Jewelry: Tory Burch earrings ¦ Loren Hope Carrie bangle and Clara Mini bracelet ¦ Michael Kors watch ¦ David Yurman ring, cuff and link bracelet

Good morning, readers! This is by far one of my favorite fall outfits. I’ve worn this blanket scarf almost every day since buying it, and last week I wanted to dress it up a little. It paired perfectly with a fun, flouncy skirt and heels. It will love recreating this look again and again for parties or other events!

A lot of people keep asking me where I found this scarf because other brands with one similar have sold out. They’re practically flying off the rack at Target, but they still have it online, so be sure to check that out before they are gone!

Outfit: Target Anorak jacket and leopard belt ¦ TJ Maxx shirt (similar here and here) ¦ Anne Klein leggings (identical) ¦ Hunter rain boots ¦ Kate Spade bag ¦ Dior lipstick ‘Trompe L’Oeil’

Jewelry: Tory Burch earrings ¦ Emoji necklace c/o Jane Basch Jewelry ¦ Michael Kors watch ¦ David Yurman ring, cuff and link bracelet

Good morning, readers! One thing I stock up on way in advance before cold weather settles in is outerwear. There’s nothing better than finding the perfect jacket that goes with everything! I’ve looked everywhere for a great Anorak jacket and randomly came across this one perusing through Target one night. Late night Target runs always mean you’re going to leave with ten things, but not what you came for… right?! I like that this jacket is utility-style with a feminine twist. Plus it’s light which makes it perfect for the ever-changing South Carolina weather.

I hope everyone has a great start to their week. I start my first day of work today at my alma mater, Presbyterian College. Wish me luck!  Don’t worry, I promise that I will still post as consistently as I do now!

Friday Favorites

Good morning, readers! I thought I’d make another Friday Favorites post since I haven’t made one in a while.

Flats are without a doubt my biggest investment piece. I don’t mind spending a little extra for a nice pair because I don’t wear them every single day, so I know they won’t be worn down easily. In actuality, there’s an overwhelming list of flats that I would be more than happy to add to my closet, but I have narrowed down my top ten for fall! Pastels, jewel tones, bows, plaid… what more could a girl want? I’ve had my eye on these Nine West leopard loafers and these Tory Burch Revas. Maybe neither are the most practical pair of shoes for every day, but the animal print makes them so fun! The bejeweled Tory Burch loafers are absolutely at the top of my wishlist for the holiday season. Regardless, any of these would make a great addition to anyone’s fall wardrobe!

I’ve really started narrowing down my favorite pins from my ‘For the Apartment’ board to give me some inspiration for my move this weekend. I start my new job next week (First big one post-graduate school, yay!) and really want my space to look a specific way. I’m only picky about it because I wasn’t happy AT ALL with my room in my previous apartment. I was always so busy that I never had a lot of time devoted to decorating or organizing the space. A lot of my belongings were leaned against a wall or randomly thrown into my closet where they were stored for a year. This year I’m really focusing on chic and functional organization with clean colors and accent pieces. I’ll be sure to share photos of my room when it’s completely done!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
